Hickory River Peoria Owner Wins Distinguished Service Award as Outstanding Young Business Leader

At a meeting of the Peoria Jaycees in February 2011, Mike Johnstone was presented with the "Distinguished Service Award as Outstanding Young Business Leader" for his exemplary community service and passion for building a successful, highly regarded restaurant business in the Peoria area. Following is an excerpt from the award ceremony: "When you think of an outstanding businessperson, what comes to mind? Someone who is successful in business ventures, but not only that: you should think of someone who gives back to the community selflessly and tirelessly. All of those attributes are true to this year’s award recipient...He has made Peoria his home and we are so lucky to have him!
